We bought this item online a few weeks ago for the room shared by our two boys. We got the medallion to go with an existing fan. It is low profile, not too bright to keep the kids up at night and doesn't make any humming noise you might expect from UV-C bulbs.

So far the boys haven't gotten sick and it gives us peace of mind to see the light on even during the day. We have our infant in our room, with out a Healthy Fan, and both he and my wife have gotten sick but the other kids didn't. Go figure. My wife wants a Healthy Fan in our room now.
