This package is one of the first things I bought for my bathroom remodel. I ended up using the shower head and tub spout, but going with a thermostatic mixing valve. The difference in quality between this valve trim and the thermostatic valve trim is significant - the valve handle is metal but the part that attaches the handle to the valve is plastic. The plastic is coated and looks like brushed nickel. On the thermostatic valve trim, all pieces are of heavy duty metal. I took off one star for this.

In the end, I was glad that I had this on hand, because when I went to install the mixing valve trim I found that the plumber hadn't read the installation instructions for the mixing valve, and the entire valve body protruded too far out of the wall. The trim plate would not make it all the way to the wall! Facing the possibility of ripping the wall and the plumbing out and re-doing it was sufficient motivation for me to take a second look at each piece. Since I had this mixing valve trim, and it's a deeper escutcheon, I was able to take the innards out of the thermostatic valve handle, insert them into this pressure-mixing trim, and with a bit of modification I was able to make it work.

anyway, the tub spout delivers an unruly rush of water to the tub; it comes tumbling out. I think I would have liked a more even flow, but then again that would be just another thing to clog up over time. when I fill the tub some water comes out of the shower head regardless of the position of the diverter; the shower head delivers a fine, gentle fall of water but it's not at all sufficient to rinse off with. The water output is more like a rain can shower head. If this were my only shower head, I would be really disappointed. For all of these things I take off another star.

none of these issues are game stoppers, but I would have liked a bit more aggressive flow from the shower head. That of course may have something to do with my water pressure, but it's also part of the manufacturers' design. My hand shower, in comparison, romps and stomps!
